Languages becoming extinct, 3D Printer in Space, Smart birds

I wrote three short stories for the 'Lab Notes' section of the 'Discover' part of the 'The New Review' section of The Observer newspaper that was published today. The stories were about the following:

1) Languages are going extinct right under our noses without us noticing.

2) NASA are sending a 3D printer into space later this month as part of a plan to create a "machine shop" outside Earth.

3) Smart birds have the ability to make small wooden tools to fetch their food as well as teach other birds how to do the same.
