Time-change plan to save energy

Britain should move its clocks two hours forward instead of the usual one (GMT+2), says one British government official. The move, he says, will assist in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and help improve the economy in various ways. The phenonmenon, known as the 'Double British Summer Time' was adhered to as part of an experiment in 1968-1971, and was thought to reduce road accidents by 11%. Britain, however, later switched back to the GMT+1 standard. The full news article by Jonathan Leake and I was published in The Sunday Times.
