
Scholarly publishers Elsevier and the American Chemical Society have filed a lawsuit against ResearchGate, an academic social networking site, alleging that the site is not properly monitoring the upload of copyrighted scientific works to its platform. The publishers allege that around four million copyrighted papers are illicitly uploaded onto ResearchGate, predominantly by researchers themselves. I was invited to speak about the case on the BBC World Service radio program Science In Action.
