Study quantifies the growing traction of open access


Researchers worldwide are taking an average of 472 days less to post their studies in online repositories due to mandates from research funders requiring them to do so. Since 2016, UK-based scientists have been posting their papers online more quickly than those in the other four nations with the highest number of papers in the dataset of more than 800,000 papers: the US, the Netherlands, Italy, and China.
