Institute of Physics implements double-blind peer review


The UK’s Institute of Physics is making double-blind peer review the default process by the end of 2021 for authors publishing in Reports on Progress in Physics, 2D Materials, and the 51 other IOP-owned journals. The implementation of the practice, in which both authors and peer reviewers are unaware of each other’s identities, is one of several changes IOP is introducing to its journals in an attempt to make peer review fairer and more equitable.
